Location
The Hahnemann Center for Heilkunst has its headquarters in Manotick, just outside Ottawa, the capital of Canada, and is accessible by plane, train, bus and car. The Ottawa International Airport receives flights from many U.S. cities direct, or via Toronto or Montreal, as well as overseas flights.
Ottawa is situated at the confluence of three rivers and has mountains to the north (for hiking, skiing, biking, canoeing, white water rafting, etc.) and is only one hour's drive from the U.S. border. It is the home of various museums, art galleries, miles of bike and walking paths, the famous Rideau Canal (the longest skating rink in the world in the winter and a boater's paradise in the summer), the RCMP Musical Ride, various festivals (the second largest blues festival in North America, folk and jazz festivals, the tulip festival and a winter carnival) and several beaches. The weather is moderate, with a warm, if variable spring, warm and sunny summer, a colorful fall, and enough cold and snow in the winter to enjoy winter sports.
The HCH is currently housed in a very special historic building in Manotick. Originally a hotel in 1859, and more recently a bridal salon until 2005.
The Village of Manotick is gorgeous, with excellent restaurants, a tea room, fantastic gift shops, a salon and spa (our neighbour!) and an incredible home accessory store to spur on your creative design urges.
